Veniamin GialourisDirector | Screenwriter

Veniamin Gialouris is an award-winning writer and director, whose short films have screened at major international festivals, including the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Flickers’ Rhode Island, Sydney Film Festival, Flickerfest and St Kilda Film Festival. In 2024, he won an Australian Directors Guild (ADG) Award in the Student category for the short he directed, GORGO, which follows a Greek bride set to marry a man in Australia who she has never met. Likewise, in the following year, the project won the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Award for Best Short.

A graduate of AFTRS with a Master of Arts in Directing, Veniamin also holds a postgraduate certificate in Creative Writing and Literature from Western Sydney University. His work is distinguished by formal precision, rigorous storytelling and a synthesis of cinematic theory and practice, reflecting a deep engagement with film as both an art form and a discipline.
