Tori Garrett is one of Australia’s busiest commercial directors, known for beautiful visual treatments and subtle performance direction.

Tori directed her first feature film, DON’T TELL (2016), a true story of sexual abuse courtroom drama starring Rachel Griffiths, Jack Thompson, Aden Young, and Jacquelin McKenzie.

The film screened as the opening night film at the 71st Australian International Movie Convention (AIMC), had its world premiere at the Newport Beach Film Festival, followed by an Australian theatrical release. DON’T TELL was nominated for four Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards, and an Australian Directors’ Guild (ADG) Award.

Her television drama directing credits include the online drama P.S TRIXIE (Yahoo 7/Hoodlum), SLIDE (Fox 8/Nickelodeon), which won an International Emmy, TIME OF OUR LIVES (ABC), which received an ADG Award nomination, WENTWORTH (Soho Channel/Fremantle Media), WONDERLAND (Fremantle/Network Ten), HIDING (Playmaker/ABC), DOCTOR DOCTOR (Nine Network), PLAYING FOR KEEPS (Network Ten), and LAST KING OF THE CROSS (Helium Pictures).

Tori was the set-up director for the series SECRET BRIDESMAID’S BUSINESS (Network Seven) and MUSTANGS F.C. (ABC/Matchbox Pictures), which received an International Emmy nomination for Best Kids Series and a nomination for an ADG Award.

She has made in-roads into the US market having directed the Lifetime telefeature YOU CAN’T TAKE MY DAUGHTER (2020), starring Kirstie Alley and based on a true story and series. She also directed THE ROOKIE and THE ROOKIE: FEDS (eOne/ABC).
