Timothy Lee is a highly accomplished and sought-after screenwriter. He is the co-creator, writer and script producer of the Outback dynastic drama series for Netflix, TERRITORY, which rose to the global number one most watched TV show on the platform in its first week of release. The production was nominated for Best Drama Program at the Logie Awards.
Across all five seasons of the popular Stan dramedy BUMP, Timothy was a core writer, script producing the third season. For his writing on the critically acclaimed ABC series MYSTERY ROAD, Timothy garnered an Australian Writer’s Guild Award (AWGIE) nomination for Best Screenplay in a Television Drama Series, an Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Award nomination for Best Screenplay in Television, and a NSW Premier’s Literary Award nomination. Likewise, for his episode on the sequel, MYSTERY ROAD: ORIGIN, Timothy received an AACTA Award nomination for Best Screenplay in Television.
Further writing credits include DOCTOR DOCTOR, Netflix’s THE UNLISTED, which won the 2020 Prix Jeunesse International award for Outstanding Children’s Television, BAD MOTHERS, RUSH, HOUSE HUSBANDS, SERANGOON ROAD and RESCUE: SPECIAL OPS.
Timothy’s first job out of film school was writing on the highly regarded, cult favourite video game L.A. Noire for Rockstar Games and Team Bondi.
Timothy holds a Masters in Drama (Screenwriting) from the Australian Film, Television and Radio School and a BA (Hons) in Comparative Religion from the University of Sydney.
He is currently in development on several television projects.
