Shanti Gudgeon is an accomplished writer in both film and television. She recently returned to write on the fifth and final season of the popular series BUMP (Stan), after penning episode eight on the previous one. With Shanti’s assistance, the series has earned several accolades over the years, including three Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Award nominations, both for Best Narrative Comedy and Best Drama, a 2026 Screen Producers Australia (SPA) Award nomination, and a 2025 Logie Award nomination. She also recently wrote for the upcoming medical drama THE F WARD (Roadshow/Stan), slated for release in 2026.

Over the past few years, Shanti has written on a number of ABC TV productions including seasons two and three of MUSTANGS F.C., and LES NORTON, and she also penned episodes on the horror drama WOLF CREEK (Stan/Screentime). Shanti’s television credits also include the Emmy and BAFTA Award winning TV series NOWHERE BOYS (Matchbox Pictures), which won both the AACTA and Logie Award for Best Children’s series, TRIP FOR BISCUITS (ABC), similarly nominated for Best Children’s TV Production at the SPA Awards, and Seven Network’s SECRET BRIDESMAIDS BUSINESS,  DANCE ACADEMY, YOU’RE SKITTING ME, SLiDE, and CONSPIRACY 365.

For film, Shanti’s eco-horror feature CARNIFEX (2022), produced by Dancing Road Productions, premiered at the Adelaide Film Festival. Her screenplay, SCRATCHES & CUTS, was selected for Film Victoria’s New Feature Writers Scheme and was also nominated for an IF Award for best unproduced feature screenplay. Finally, her feature script, UNDER THE BLACK FLAG, was selected by the Producer’s Guild of America for their International Co-Production Showcase.
