Sara Khan is a screenwriter and proud Wailwan, Gomeroi, Pakistani woman with a strong background in story telling within a range of industries.  For television, Sara wrote on the second season of the critically acclaimed drama series HEARTBREAK HIGH (Netflix / Fremantle), which was awarded an Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards (AACTA) Award for Best Drama Series and received both a GLAAD Media Award and a Logie Award nomination for Outstanding Drama Series.

Sara has also written on the drama series PAPER DOLLS (Paramount+ / Helium Pictures), and the gold rush comedy GOLD DIGGERS (Paramount / ABC / CBS). Additionally, Sara wrote on the highly acclaimed EROTIC STORIES (SBS / ITV Studios), where her episode ‘Powerful Owl’ was selected for a worldwide premiere at SXSW Sydney. Sara is currently developing her debut original series for television, supported by Screen Australia.

Alongside writing for television, Sara has previously worked across radio, museums, and education, focusing on platforming P.O.C and First Nations voices. Sara hosted and produced The Brekky Show on Koori Radio from 2019-2021. This extended into FBi radio, where she co-hosted the award-winning program Race Matters from 2018-2022. As a Programs Officer at the Australian Museum, Sara ran tours that centered around dismantling false narratives of First Nations People.

In 2025, Sara was selected to attend Australian International Screen Forum in New York with Talent.
