Sara Kern is a Slovenian- Australian screenwriter and director based in Melbourne. Her Cannes’ Cine-foundation Residence supported debut feature Moja Vesna (2022) premiered at Berlin International Film Festival 2022. Kern’s short film Screcno, Orlo! (2016) premiered at Venice International Film Festival and went on to screen at Toronto International Film Festival, Chicago International Film Festival and Seattle International Film Festival.

Kern studied Film Directing at The Academy for Theatre, Radio, Film and Television Ljubljana and worked for several years as a screenwriter for the Slovenia Children Youth Programme before moving to Australia.
