Roger Monk is a multi-award-winning film and television creator, screenwriter, script editor and script producer. His feature WALKING ON WATER (2002) won a number of awards including the Australian Film Institute (AFI) Award for Best Screenplay, the Australian Critics Circle Best Script Awards, and the Teddy at Berlin Film Festival.

Recently, Roger co developed, wrote and script edited the supernatural drama MR. MIDNIGHT (Netflix), which won an Asian Academy Creative Award for Best Children’s Program. He also recently wrote on the comedy drama series THE UNUSUAL SUSPECTS (SBS), which featured in competition at Series Mania in France. The series was nominated in the Best Mini-Series category for both a Logie and an Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Award, and was released in North America as a Hulu Original. Roger also recently script edited THE STRANGE CHORES (ABC),

As the head writer on the Emmy® Award winning series NOWHERE BOYS (ABC), Roger’s pilot was nominated for an Australian Writers’ Guild Award (AWGIE). He additionally wrote on SECRET LIFE OF US (Endemol/Network Ten), DANCE ACADEMY (Werner Productions/ABC), for which his episode garnered another AWGIE nomination, THE DOCTOR BLAKE MYSTERIES (December Media/ABC), EAST OF EVERYTHING (ABC) and ITCH (Komixx Entertainment/ABC). He also cowrote and coproduced the documentary THE COMING BACK OUT BALL MOVIE (2018), which closed the Melbourne International Film Festival.

Roger is currently in development on a number of film and television projects, including a comedy drama series MORTAL COIL with Magpie Pictures,  a murder mystery SLAY with EndemolShine, and a feature, PARADISE, with Aquarius Films.
