Peter Templeman is a Melbourne-based screenwriter and director whose work has been nominated for an Academy Award, a BAFTA, and an International Emmy. Most recently, Peter wrote episode 4 of the Netflix drama THE SURVIVORS for Tony Ayres Productions, a limited series adaptation of Jane Harper’s latest novel.

Known for his ability to move between genres, from comedy to thriller and dark drama, often striking a delicate balance between, Peter’s debut feature film NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN sustained an eight-week run in cinemas in 2012. The film received an Australian Writers Guild award, four AACTA nominations and five nominations for the Film Critics Circle of Australia Awards. Between 2004 and 2007, Peter’s three short films won thirty-nine festival awards, including an Oscar nomination for THE SAVIOUR.

In the last few years he set up two very different shows: Paramount Plus dramedy FIVE BEDROOMS and 7Network’s crime drama WANTED, both of which received critical acclaim and sold extensively to international streamers. On season four of FIVE BEDROOMS, Peter also served as an Executive Producer. He is further credited with directing all six episodes of Rebel Wilson’s cult musical comedy BOGAN PRIDE.

Peter currently has several television works in development.
