Mia Wasikowska recently directed on the Australian series THE GREAT WHITE (See-Saw Films/ABC), starring Hugo Weaving. Mia made her directorial debut with LONG CLEAR VIEW, a segment of THE TURNING (2013) an anthology film, based on Tim Winton’s novel, which received an AACTA Award nomination for Best Direction.  She followed this with the short film AFTERBIRTH, which explores the complexities of a mother’s love for her newborn. It was a segment of the international anthology film MADLY (2016), which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival.

Mia, raised in a family of visual artists, has worked with and been influenced by some of the greatest filmmakers of our generation including Tim Burton, Edward Zwick, Mira Nair, Lisa Cholodenko, Cary Fukunaga, Park Chan-wook, Jim Jarmusch, David Cronenberg, Guillermo del Toro and Mia Hansen-Love.
