Kirsty FisherScreenwriter | Script Producer

Kirsty has been writing, script editing and script producing for over two decades.

She has written for both adult and children’s television including The Family LawMustangs F.C, WantedDance Academy and House Husbands. Kirsty was in-house development coordinator at Burberry Productions for two years and was later part of the Playmaker Media showrunner initiative, Scribe. Kirsty has also mentored on New Zealand initiative Script to Screen’s Episodic Lab.

Kirsty has a number of recent writing credits. She recently wrote on Surviving Summer for Werner Film Productions and Netflix. She also wrote on The Lost Flowers of Alice Heart, based on the novel of the same name by Holly Ringwald, for Amazon and Made Up Stories, which stars Sigourney Weaver and Asher Keddie. The Lost Flowers of Alice Heart was nominated for Best Limited Series at the Australian Writers Guild Awards and won the AACTA award for Best Miniseries. Kirsty wrote on the feminist noir comedy Deadloch for Amazon, which recently won Comedy Program or Series Production of the Year at the SPA awards, as well as The Messenger, based on the novel of the same name by Markus Zusak, for Lingo Pictures and the ABC. She also script produced and wrote on The Family Law (S1-3) and the dystopian narrative comedy series, Creamerie. Creamerie won the New Zealand Television Award for Best Drama Series in 2022.

Kirsty co-created, co-produced and co-wrote the award-winning comedy series, Laid with Marieke Hardy. Laid is currently being adapted for the US with Stephanie Hsu as the lead, which Kirsty is executive producing with Nahnatchka Khan.
