Keir Wilkins is a film and television writer who has also worked extensively in script development. He spent two years as part of FremantleMedia Australia’s development team, where he created and developed two original series for the company. Keir worked on popular series Wentworth and was also the assistant Script Editor on the Foxtel/Amazon miniseries Picnic at Hanging Rock. Keir has since been part of early series development for Playmaker Media, Guesswork Television, and WBMC. Most recently, Keir is writing on two television projects for Werner Film Productions.
As a screenwriter, Keir has written over a dozen episodes of Neighbours, and served as a storyliner for the show. He wrote the feature film script The Diplomat’s Daughter for WBMC, which is in late stage financing with Netflix. He is also currently developing original projects with Werner Film Productions and FremantleMedia Australia.
His short films Bystander, Life in Red String and family film, Blue, have achieved festival success both internationally, and he was awarded Best Young Australian Filmmaker at both The Shorts Film Festival in Adelaide and the WA Screen Awards – where he also collected the prize for Outstanding Achievement in Long Form Screenwriting.
As a playwright, Keir wrote Fighting Words for Powerhouse Youth Theatre, and George for the Australian Theatre for Young People.
