Kate Dennis has set-up television dramas in the US, UK and Australia including PULSE (Netflix), RUN (HBO), TOMMY (CBS), NEW AMSTERDAM (NBC), SECRETS & LIES (Network Ten), PARTY TRICKS (Network Ten), RESCUE ME (BBC1), and OFFSPRING (Southern Star/Network Ten). OFFSPRING ran for seven seasons, garnering over 40 awards and nominations.

Kate’s episodic work in the US traverses comedy and drama and includes: ALL HER FAULT (Carnival Films/Peacock); THE HANDMAID’S TALE (Hulu); GLOW (Netflix); THE TICK (Amazon); HEATHERS (Paramount); STRANGE ANGEL (CBS); KRYPTON  (SyFy); DAMNATION (Netflix); I’M DYING UP HERE (Showtime Network); THE MINDY PROJECT (20th Century Fox); PREACHER (AMC Studios); TURN (AMC Studios); FEAR THE WALKING DEAD (AMC Studios); SLEEPY HOLLOW (20th Century Fox) and SUITS (Hypnotic/USA Network).

Kate began her career as a camera assistant and later script supervisor on PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT (1994); BABE (1995); AT PLAY IN THE FIELDS OF THE LORD (1991) and CLIFFHANGER (1981).

Her Australian directing work includes RAKE (ABC); MISS FISCHER’S MURDER MYSTERIES (Every Cloud Productions/ABC); THE TIME OF OUR LIVES (ABC); RUSH (Southern Star/Network Ten); THE SECRET LIFE OF US (Southern Star/Network Ten); and LOVE MY WAY (Southern Star/Foxtel).

From 1997 to 2002, Kate was based in London and developed two features (with Polygram), co-wrote SUPERSTITION (2001), starring Charlotte Rampling, and directed 2nd unit on Gregor Jordan’s BUFFALO SOLDIERS (2000), starring Joaquin Phoenix.

Kate has been nominated for three Australian Director’s Guild (ADG) Awards for her work on LOVE MY WAY, RAKE and SECRETS & LIES. In 2017, Kate’s episode of HANDMAID’S TALE ‘The Bridge’ was nominated for an Emmy® for Outstanding Director for a Drama Series.
