Justin Monjo is an award-winning writer for screen and stage.
Justin wrote the screenplay for the feature films Jungle starring Daniel Radcliffe, and Storm Boy for Ambience Entertainment. Jungle premiered as the opening night film of the Melbourne International Film Festival in 2017. He also wrote feature Spear, and two of the chapters of the critically-acclaimed feature compendium adaptation of Tim Winton’s The Turning: Aquifer and Sand. He is currently working on several feature screenplays and television projects.
For television, Justin wrote the mini-series Peter Allen: Not the Boy Next Door, The Code, and the highly rated mini-series Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story of INXS. Other credits include The Secret Daughter; Brock, Tomorrow When the War Began, Paper Giants: Magazine Wars, and Rush. Justin co-created the high-rating telemovie The Alice, and was head writer and co-executive producer on the cult series Farscape.
Justin’s theatre credits include Romeo is Bleeding, Tim Winton’s That Eye, The Sky co-written with Richard Roxburgh (nominated for Best Play at the Sydney Theatre Critics Circle), and Tim Winton’s Cloudstreet co-written with Nick Enright.
