Craig Irvin is an award-winning writer and director. His debut short film Tethered, a complex and brutal exploration of masculinity, screened at numerous international film festivals including the prestigious Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival. It went on to win Best Director at the Sydney Film Festival where the jury stated that it “showed the emergence of a significant new Aussie talent”.
Most recently, Craig is in pre-production as the director of The Spooky Files (Tony Ayres Productions/Megaboom/ABC). He developed the Emmy and BAFTA Award winning TV series Nowhere Boys in collaboration with creator Tony Ayres. Craig’s work on the series as a writer and director garnered him awards from both the Australian Directors Guild and the Australian Writers Guild. He went on to co-write the feature film Nowhere Boys: The Book of Shadows, which was released theatrically in 2016.
Craig wrote on the ABC and Beyond Entertainment series Troppo in 2022. He directed two episodes of the third series of Five Bedrooms for Paramount Plus and Hoodlum Entertainment. Craig is writing on the upcoming series Crazy Fun Park for ABCME and Werner, in addition to writing on both the first and upcoming second season of the ABCME and FremantleMedia series The PM’s Daughter. Craig wrote on the series Itch in 2021, for the ABC and Komixx Entertainment. Craig wrote and directed for the See Saw Films/Netflix series The New Legends of Monkey, a reimagining of the Chinese epic Journey to the West and worked as the script producer for the third season of the Emmy nominated series Wanted, guiding the evolution of the series story from development to completion.
Craig is currently in development on a varied slate of projects, including the psychological horror film Co and Nightshade a political thriller series for Rhapsody Films.
Craig is currently in development for the Television series Warm Bloods (2023) with Sticky Pictures.
