Connor Van VuurenScreenwriter | Director

Connor is a writer, director, actor, stand-up comedian and former stunt-man. Over the last decade he has made online content for the YouTube channel Van Vuuren Bros which has received over 32 million views. He wrote, directed and acted in the two-season half hour TV comedy Soul Mates, which earned him ADG nominations for Best Direction in a TV or SVOD Comedy Program, in both 2015 and 2017, while the peripheral content and short form episodes of the show received over 19 million views.

The post-apocalyptic family comedy Over and Out which Connor directed won Best Short Series at CanneSeries 2019, and was nominated for a 2019 AACTA award for Best Scripted Online Series. One of his other short series; Location Scouts, has enjoyed a run of international success, winning Best Web Series at the LA Film Awards 2019, Best Web Series at Top Shorts Film Festival 2019, and Best in Show at the IndiFEST Film Awards. Most recently Connor was a lead writer on the second series of Emmy award winning kids’ half hour The New Legends of Monkey for See-Saw Films and Netflix.

During his stunt career, Connor was an elf in The Hobbit, a ninja in Wolverine and stunt Double to Michael Fassbender in Alien Covenant. As an actor he’s recently appeared in Mystery Road and Total Control, and he’s currently writing the feature film Kiwi Assassins for Libertine Pictures in Wellington.
