Christopher Lee is an award-winning highly sought-after writer.
His most recent credit was Les Norton, starring Alexander Bertrand and Rebel Wilson. He wrote and produced ABC’s miniseries Friday on My Mind, which follows the rise of rock band The Easybeats during the 1960s, which was nominated for an AACTA for Best Telefeature or Mini Series in 2019.
Christopher’s other television credits include the mini-series drama, Gallipoli (Endemol/Nine Network) staring Kodi Smit-McPhee, Harry Greenwood; Howzat! Kerry Packer’s War (Nine Network) which won an AACTA Award for Best Telefeature as well as two Logie Awards for Most Popular Miniseries and Most Outstanding Miniseries in 2013;Paper Giants: The Birth of Cleo, a mini series for ABC which won the Queensland Premier’s Literary Award, as well as nominations for an AACTA award for Best Telefeature, a Logie for Most Outstanding Drama Series and an AWGIE for Best Telefeature.
Christopher is a four-time AWGIE Award winner: for the documentary Saturday, Saturday; the SKY UK/Seven Network mini-series Do or Die; the pilot episode of The Secret Life of Us; and for an episode of Rush, which he co-created and script produced. In 2009, he won the FOXTEL Fellowship of Excellence in Television Writing as well as earning the Centenary Medal for services to television in 2002.
A former journalist and foreign correspondent, Christopher was creator and writer of the ABC drama series Stringer, head writer and script executive on Police Rescue and co-writer of The Bodysurfer, for which he won an AFI Best Screenplay Award. He was co-creator and head writer of the Network Ten series Big Sky, wrote the SBS teleplay That Man’s Father and co-wrote the ABC telemovie Secret Men’s Business.
