Christine Bartlett is a writer and producer, who co-created, co-executive produced, produced and wrote FIVE BEDROOMS (Hoodlum/Paramount+). All four seasons of the critically acclaimed comedy/drama have screened in over 30 territories worldwide, including on Peacock and BBC One.
FIVE BEDROOMS was nominated for Best Comedy Series at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards, and Christine was nominated for Best Television Screenplay at the Australian Writers’ Guild (AWGIE) Awards.
Christine is known for the unvarnished truth and trademark wit of her dialogue, and has worked on some of the most popular premium Australian dramas of the past decade, including six consecutive seasons of the award-winning series OFFSPRING (Southern Star/Network 10).
Christine wrote on Series 3 of the award-winning drama series THE NEWSREADER (ABC). She also wrote PHILIA, the opening episode of the anthology series EROTIC STORIES (Lingo/SBS).
Christine’s debut feature, THE WEDDING PARTY (2010), was selected as the Opening Night film of Melbourne International Film Festival, where it was awarded Most Popular Film. THE WEDDING PARTY went on to screen at festivals worldwide, collecting numerous awards including Best Screenplay and Best Feature Film at New York City International Film Festival.
Christine has multiple projects in development, including a dark family drama, a genre-bending supernatural feature, and a half hour black comedy.
