Sarah Bishop is an actress, writer, director and producer. She is one third of the comedy trio Skit Box who have achieved over 30 million hits online for several viral videos including the parody music video Activewear (6 million views across all platforms). Skit Box’s sketch television series Wham Bam Thank You Ma’am, which Sarah co-created, co-wrote and co-directed, screened on ABC2 in 2016. Skit Box was part of Foxtel’s new comedy series The Slot, which features prominent Australian Youtube stars and comedians, and which will screen on FOX8. She and the other members of Skit Box also directed an episode each and starred in their original comedy webseries Skit Box: The Series, which received funding through Skip Ahead and is available to view on Youtube.
She is currently in development with Revlover Films for her series Public Relations, created by herself, Ainslie Clouston and Claire Phillips, supported by the Screen Australia Gender Matters initiative. She is also in development with RevLover Films for her series Plus Ones, co-created with comedian Cameron James. Plus Ones has received development finance from the ABC.
Sarah is also heavily involved in independent film and was the lead actress and producer of the award-winning independent feature film Crushed, which screened at several festivals including the 2015 Napa Valley Film Festival and the 2016 Miami International Film Festival. In 2016 she also appeared as part of the ensemble cast in Australian horror/comedy Red Christmas with Dee Wallace (E.T, The Howling).
She trained in theatre at the Australian Theatre for Young People, and in comedy at Amy Poehler’s Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles.
