Jonathan Gavin is an award-winning playwright who has become one of the most sought-after writers for television. He co-created, script produced and wrote family drama Sisters for Endemol Shine and Network Ten, which was adapted as a US series.

Jonathan recently wrote an episode of the critically acclaimed series The Newsreader, winner of the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Award for Best Drama Series, and the TV Week Silver Logie Award for Most Outstanding Drama Series. Jonathan was one of the core writers and script producers on Network Ten’s comic drama series Offspring which ran for seven seasons. He wrote for Channel Ten’s acclaimed thriller The Secret She Keeps and served as an in-house Showrunner and Script Executive for Fremantle Australia. Jonathan has also written on Seven Types of Ambiguity, Cleverman, Party TricksMustangs FC, Mr & Mrs Murder and the second season of the critically-acclaimed drama Puberty Blues. His screenplay for The Beautiful Lie was nominated for a 2016 AACTA Award for Best Screenplay in Television.

Jonathan’s play A Moment on the Lips received the Philip Parsons Young Playwright’s Award, and has been performed around the world. Sleepless Night, has been performed in festivals worldwide and garnered numerous awards. Tiger Country and I.D. were written during Griffin Theatre’s Emerging Writers residency, with I.D. awarded the 2009 Mitch Mathews Award. Jonathan’s play The Business was produced by Company B Belvoir.
