With more than 150 hours of crime, mystery, science fiction and drama to her name, Jane is one of Australia’s most sought-after writer/producers.
A former lawyer, Jane produced and was the lead writer for the ABC legal drama, Janet King – the first Australian primetime drama to have a lesbian lead character. Janet King was a spinoff of prosecution drama Crownies, on which Jane produced and led the writing team. She was also a writer and producer on the Indigenous sci-fi ABC series Cleverman.
Jane’s recent work includes writing for the upcoming season of 100% Wolf: Legend of the Moonstone for ABC and Flying Bark Productions, Nine Network drama Halifax: Retribution, which was nominated for a 2020 AACTA Award for Best Drama Series, writing for The Heights Season Two for the ABC, Netflix’s The New Legends of Monkey, and The Unlisted which won the 2020 Prix Jeunesse International Award for Outstanding Children’s Television. Jane was a writer and script producer on the ABC crime drama Troppo (2022) for Beyond Entertaiment and EQ, based on Candice Fox’s highly successful novel Crimson Lake.
Jane was the 2018/19 Australian Antarctic Division artistic fellow, spending three months as a summer expeditioner at Mawson Research Station where she developed a TV series about living and working in Antarctica.
Jane’s previous writing credits include Secret Daughter, Love Child, The Doctor Blake Mysteries, Tricky Business, McLeod’s Daughters, The Secret Life of Us, Blue Heelers, Stingers, MDA and children’s series Sam Fox: Extreme Adventures, and 100% Wolf.
Jane worked as script editor on the US series Hunters for Gale Anne Hurd (The Terminator, Aliens, The Walking Dead), and spent three months in the script department of CSI on an International Fellowship.
