Paddy MacraeScreenwriter | Executive Producer

Paddy completed his Masters in Screenwriting at the VCA after working for several years in London as a copywriter and freelance journalist, with his graduating project, television pilot The Blockade, winning Best Script. In 2015, he began work as a full-time assistant to Tony Ayres in scripted development at Matchbox Pictures, working across projects including The Family LawGlitchSeven Types of Ambiguity, and Barracuda. He script edited the second season of Wanted, and co-wrote one of the episodes. Paddy is in development on his original four part drama series, The Wild (based on his script The Blockade)along with several other original projects. He most recently wrote and created the tv series Irreverent, released on Peacock in 2022, where a criminal from Chicago must pose as a reverent in a small Australian coastal town to hide his true identity.

After winning the TAC ‘Make a Film, Make a Difference’ script competition in 2007, Paddy changed his degree in order to study Film and TV at Swinburne University, where his graduating television comedy pilot was optioned and developed by Renegade Films (Wilfred, Inside the Firestorm) in Melbourne and New Media Vision in the UK (Mysteries of Laura). His television pilot script The Island won him a place at the BBC TV Writers’ Festival in Leeds, as well as a TV Drama Development placement at the London Screenwriters festival.
