Alan WhiteDirector

Born in London and raised in Australia, Alan White co-wrote and directed the feature-length documentary The Life and Death of Westerly Windin. The documentary chronicles the life of surf icon Peter Drouyn and his controversial metamorphosis into Westerly Windina, produced by Beau Willimon (House of Cards, Ides of March).eOne have taken on the documentary for distribution.

Previously, he directed Lionsgate thriller Reclaim, starring John Cusack, Ryan Phillippe, Jacki Weaver and Rachelle Lefevre, as well as AFI’s Broken, starring Jeremy Sisto and Heather Graham. Additionally, Alan directed two critically acclaimed Australian films, Erskineville Kings starring Hugh Jackman and Joel Edgerton, and Risk starring Jason Clarke, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.

As a director of commercials and music videos, Alan has won every major international advertising award from Cannes Lions to CLIOs, and was the first director to win an Emmy for “Outstanding TV Commercial.” Alan is a partner at Bob Industries, one of the premier commercial companies in the world whose director roster includes Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, Jason Reitman, Davis Guggenheim, and Miguel Arteta.

He is currently attached as the Executive Producer and Director of Days Like This, a feature with Greenbelt Films and producer Brinton Bryan (The Blazing World, 12 Mighty Orphans), for release in 2021. Alan is also in development as a writer and director on the upcoming feature, Stoked, based on the novel by Bob McTavish.
