Aaron McLisky graduated from Macquarie University in 2007 with a degree in Screen Production. In 2018 Aaron shot the third season of popular SBS comedy The Family Law, and the upcoming third season of Glitch. His recent film credits include The School, Bronte Pictures’ latest horror feature, and two shorts: Cooee, starring Odessa Young, and The Beehive for We Are Arcadia, which screened at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival. In 2016, he wrapped on the second series of Soul Mates for the Van Vuuren Brothers and the ABC.
His earlier credits include camera operation for the feature Sacred Heart; three short film collaborations as cinematographer with writer/director Kevin Lim; Life is Risky, a comedy/drama film anthology of twelve stories exploring life and death in the modern world; an Aboriginal Human Rights Documentary; and an action adventure short, Finding Santa. He also shot the pilot for The Record, which was part of the ABC’s Fresh Blood Pilot Season in 2015, created by Veronica Milson and Steen Raskopoulos.
Aaron commenced his professional career at content agency TCO, where he undertook a wide cross-section of roles; from concept ideation to production. Aaron continued to develop his skills across a host of traditional advertising and social media campaigns and over three years quickly rose to a lead creative role in the agency, eventually leaving to pursue freelance work as a creative and cinematographer. Throughout his career he has shot numerous music videos for artists such as Emma Louise, Samantha Jade, Justice Crew, The Rubens, and Nathaniel. His work has been officially selected for film festivals around the world including the Sydney Film Festival, Palm Springs International ShortFest, and FlickerFest.
